From the mystic landscapes of Portugal, a sonic force emerged, ready to conquer the universe of progressive rock — Snowman. A project shaped by artistic mastery and emotional depth, born from the vision of the prolific Pedro Fernandes (vocals and guitar) and Dinis Costa (keyboards). They are frequently joined by equally gifted musicians such as Tiago Faria and David Vieira (drums), Ruydabass (bass), Guilherme Luz (analog synths), Rui Godinho (keyboards), João Nero (rhythm guitar), and the enchanting Cristiana Gomes (flute).
Inspired by timeless icons like Genesis, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, and Camel, Snowman's sound is a true sensorial journey — guiding listeners through waves of melancholy, ecstasy, and transcendence. The band’s story began in 2018 with their debut single “Leave it All Behind”, marking the beginning of their ascent within the prog rock scene. In 2019, they released the EP “Inner Light”, filled with captivating compositions and powerful melodies. The 2021 single “A Storm Coming” paved the way for their critically acclaimed 2022 album “In a Better Place” — a sonic tapestry that celebrates everything that makes progressive rock such an immersive and emotional experience.
In 2023, Snowman released the moving single “Blanch”, a heartfelt tribute to their late friend and collaborator Jorge Sousa Blanch, which deeply resonated with fans, gathering hundreds of streams on Spotify. Their connection with listeners has been further amplified by the SRR program on Rádio Terranova (105 FM), passionately supported by Jorge Cravo and José Bola.
At the start of 2024, Snowman unveiled their latest full-length album, “Transient Reality” — a dense and deeply emotional work that explores the often invisible world of mental illness, highlighting human fragility with a rare musical sensitivity. With over 60,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, the band’s journey is a testament to their unwavering dedication and the powerful emotional bond they’ve built with their audience.
Now, in April 2025, Snowman presents their newest single and video “Hand in Hand (Toda a Palavra é Corpo)” — a powerful fusion of music and poetry, featuring the evocative words of writer Inês Antunes. Cinematic, intimate, and emotionally charged, this release marks a new creative chapter for the band, where artistic expression transcends boundaries and invites the listener into a deeply human sensorial experience. Snowman’s music continues to echo as a call for introspection, beauty, and connection — securing their place as one of the most authentic and innovative voices in contemporary Portuguese progressive rock.
