Behind the Song: The Making of "Hand in Hand (Toda a Palavra é Corpo)"

25.03.29

After months immersed in rehearsals, recordings, and creative exploration, Snowman is proud to announce the release of a very special single — "Hand in Hand (Toda a Palavra é Corpo)" Premiering Saturday, April 5th at 7PM (Portugal time) on Rádio Terranova FM — during SRR - Sonho do Rock and Roll hosted by Jorge Cravo — this track marks a bold new chapter in our musical journey. But before the premiere… here’s a look at how it all came to life.

✍️ From Poetry to Sound

At the heart of this song is a collaboration that surprised even us. We had long admired the work of Inês Antunes, aka Falafogo — a fierce literary force in Portugal’s poetic underground. Her recent book “Casulo para criar asas” resonated deeply with our lyrical sensibilities. When we invited her to write and perform a spoken word piece for one of our developing demos, something clicked instantly. Her voice, full of fire and vulnerability, became the emotional core of "Hand in Hand". Her text, delivered in Portuguese, contrasts beautifully with our progressive instrumental layers — merging language, sound, and emotion into a single living body of work.

🎛️ Studio Sessions & Sonic Experimentation

The track was recorded and produced by André Eusébio at Lemon Drops Media, a long-time creative ally. We aimed for something intimate but expansive — warm analog textures fused with detailed sonic architecture. Keyboards (performed by Dinis Costa) build lush harmonic beds under Pedro Fernandes’ intricate guitar lines. Meanwhile, Ruydabass bass and David Vieira's drums keep the pulse organic, grounded, and evolving, while vocal layering and field samples helped shape a more cinematic dimension. We experimented with rhythm, space, and silence — allowing the words to breathe, the crescendos to erupt naturally, and the message to resonate.

🌀 A Shared Vision “Toda a Palavra é Corpo”

Every word is a body. That line became our guiding light throughout the creative process. We wanted listeners to feel present with us in the song — walking hand in hand through memory, language, and meaning. This track is both an invitation and a statement: An invitation to dive into something raw and real. A statement that Snowman continues to evolve — blurring the lines between music, poetry, and performance.
